It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that James Harris passed away on Christmas Day.
James was a proud MTI graduate and a deeply respected mentor to many Fellows in Training within MTI. I first met James in 1993 when he completed his affiliation at Rehability as part of his PTA program. After finishing his PTA training, he went on to earn his PT degree from Texas State University and later completed his Fellowship training with MTI in 2006.
James went on to co-found Austin Manual Therapy Associates with Ben Keene, growing it into one of the truly outstanding physical therapy clinics in Austin. His professional accomplishments were many, but what stood out most was who James was as a person. He had a big heart, was incredibly generous with his time and knowledge, and was a truly good friend. People like James are rare, and his passing leaves a profound void. He will be missed more than I can say.
For those who wish to attend, James’ memorial service will be held on January 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to noon at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, located at 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660.
