The Fellowship Program has certainly been an extremely rewarding experience, and well worth all of the time and energy poured into it. To call this program transformative (for the better of course) would be an understatement.

Completing MTI is an absolute career game-changer! The expertise gained in manual therapy and movement-based assessment significantly improved my critical thinking and the confidence that I was applying the most effective treatments for my patients. MTI’s approach allowed me to immediately implement the assessment and treatment skills learned. Relative to other fellowship programs I found MTI to have a much more effective blend of didactic and hands-on skills which resulted in quick implementation of the new knowledge. MTI has a 25+ year relationship with Concentra, dedicated to building the clinical skills of their therapists. Completing MTI and the career that it has led to with Concentra was the most instrumental career decision I made.

I just wanted to message you guys and tell you thank you for your positive impact on my career. When I watched Wes Wickwar and Mike Reiman in school at Wichita State, I knew that I wanted to go to MTI and be a Fellow. It has still been the best decision I’ve ever made in my career. I was motivated to complete the Fellowship Program because I wanted to better treat my patients, but what I didn’t know or expect was how many doors and opportunities it opened in my career. I was able to complete another Fellowship Program through Wash U after MTI piqued my interest in Movement Impairments, it increased my salary and job opportunities, allowed me to become a PT director, gave me the confidence to be a CI, and just recently it allowed me to open my own practice. I truly don’t think these things would have been possible without the training I received from MTI. I just wanted to give credit where credit is due. Keep raising the standards for PTs!

MTI was extremely worth my time and has drastically altered the trajectory of my life. Without MTI I am not the same physical therapist I am now, I do not have the mentors and connections I have now, and I likely also am not living in beautiful Flagstaff, AZ opening my own practice and controlling my own destiny. MTI has allowed me to explore new and different avenues of physical therapy practice that I was not exposed to in therapy school, as well as delving deeper into concepts and topics I did learn about in school and refining them. My manual techniques, critical appraisal, evaluation and examination, and treatment interventions are far beyond my peers from school and far beyond where I was 2 years ago prior to starting this program. I am extremely grateful to Pieter and Tim and all the instructors for this program and all you have done for me and our cohort.

I feel MTI has completely changed how I view the profession. I know I had shortcomings as a new grad PT and was already experiencing burnout. The education I received in school alone was not sufficient to truly make a difference in ortho PT. I am no re-invigorated in my profession and more excited about my career in PT.

MTI has provided me with not only a systematic process for treating patients but the confidence to do so effectively. MTI has progressed significantly the knowledge base I received from my physical therapy program to help patients better. I would not be the clinician I am today without receive the curriculum and hands on skills from MTI. Pieter is hands down the best physical therapist I have encountered in my short time in the field. In addition, he is one of the top teachers I have had the privilege to learn from. Pieter is not only an extraordinary leader, but he is able to manage executing complex patients while completing additional tasks to make the clinic successful in daily operations. I have learned so much behind just manual therapy from him and appreciate all he has done to advance my career.
